How can I check if a property I am interested in buying, can have the kind of home I want built on it?
I am interested in purchasing a small waterfront property, but do not want to make an offer until I know that the house I want can be built on the lot. Also, does anyone know about a construction loan and are they harder to get then a regular mortgage? Right now there is a mobile home on the lot.
Call the local building department/planning department of the municipality the property is located in.
With regards to a construction loan, I used to do them for Chase Manhattan. Give them a call. Their main office is in Denver, Colorado...........call information for the number.
