plz answer if you are a great wife and throw a party at home a lot?
so you are a great wife and you often invite your friends family for a party at your home.
As a host of the family party, what's DO's and DON'T's?
for example, what type of foods and drink do you usually prepare?
what type of conversations do you usually bring up?
is there anything special you do to make the party interesting?
If my whole family is here I do a buffet and we all eat in the living room. My family loves my barbecue, coleslaw, rolls and chips. I usually have ice tea, wine and beer on hand. Very casual and laid back. I always do brownies, cookies or cupcakes for dessert.
If I am cooking for my husband business associates I usually roast 3 o 4 chickens on the barbecue grill ahead of time. I make potato salad and pasta salad, tossed salad, dinner rolls, a relish tray. I serve beer and ice tea. For dessert I make a trifle. I set this up as a buffet and we all hang out in the backyard and listen to music and chat. I also have a variety of chips and dips on hand for munching before and after we eat.
If it's only about 8 of us I do a sit down meal. I set a nice table with my good china and silver. I serve an appetizer which usually is shrimp cocktail or stuffed mushrooms and wine. I make a big tossed salad with a variety of salad dressing choices, warm garlic bread, seafood linguine and cake for dessert.
