What is the best hotel to stay in in Orlando near Disney?
family of 5 for a week, a good hotel moderately priced in orlando near Disney preferably with shuttle service to all the parks
I recommend these:
1. Sheraton Safari Resort: Wonderfully-themed and located just outside the main gates of the Downtown Disney Marketplace. This resort has a fantastic pool, very nice rooms/suites, and offers transportation to all area theme parks. Rooms typically start at $130 on up per night.
2. Nickolodean Hotel: Located just outside the main entrance to the WDW Resort along the I-4, the Nickalodean Hotel is a fantastic option for children under 12 years old. The pool area is fantastic and kids will love their own bunk beds and play room in the family suites. Prices typically start out in the $140 range on up per night.
3. Best Western Lakeside: This resort is located off Hwy 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy), just 5 Minutes From the WDW Resort. In the off-peak season, rooms are as cheap as $59 a night, plus tax. During peak seasons, rates typically start around $79-$89 a night. They offer connecting rooms for large families, a great buffet-style restaurant, miniature golf on the property, a few fun pools, and shopping is walking distance away. They also offer shuttle service to the parks.
4. Ramada Maingate West: Located just off Hwy 192 and 3 minutes outside the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. This resort features a great indoor pool and hot tub, Karyokee bar, food court-style food, buffet-style restaurant (not recommended for breakfast, however), and transportation to all area theme parks. Transportation at this resort is not free, however. My husband and I felt their rates for this service were a bit outrageous. So we recommend a rental car if you choose to stay here. Also, the karyokee bar can be a bit noisy. If this is a concern, request a room on an outer corner. We did and we never heard a thing until we walked down the hall and got near the elevators. Average price per night at this resort is $79 a night plus tax.
